This Policy applies to users of the Service. Depending on your location, applicable law may grant you additional rights regarding your personal data. Those rights are described in this Policy where relevant.

By creating an Account or using the Service, you acknowledge that this Policy applies to the processing of your personal data. Please also review our Terms of Service.

Qutrek operates globally, and Qutrek and its service providers may process personal data in countries other than the country in which you reside. These countries may have data protection laws that differ from those in your jurisdiction.

Qutrek is not directed to children below the minimum age permitted under our Terms of Service.

You must be at least thirteen (13) years old, or the minimum age required to use the Service under the laws of your country or region, whichever is higher. Individuals below the applicable minimum age are not permitted to create an Account or use the Service.

Qutrek uses an age-screening process during Account registration. If a person indicates that they are below the applicable minimum age, Account creation will be blocked.

We do not knowingly collect personal data from children below the applicable minimum age. If we learn that such a child has created an Account or provided personal data through the Service, we may suspend or terminate the Account and take reasonable steps to delete the associated personal data, subject to applicable legal, safety, security, and record-retention requirements.

If you believe that a child below the applicable minimum age has created an Account or provided personal data to Qutrek, please contact us at support@qutrek.com.

11. Location Data

Location is a core feature of Qutrek. Every Trek is tagged to a real geographic location. This section provides specific detail about how we handle location data.

11.1 What We Collect

• Precise geolocation (GPS coordinates) — collected when you create a Trek or when you save a location for later Trek creation, and only with your explicit device level permission.

• Approximate location (city/region level) — derived from your IP address; collected automatically to serve relevant content.

11.2 How We Use It

Precise location: We use precise location data to associate a Trek with its geographic coordinates, enable location-based discovery, display nearby Treks and destinations, update your visited countries record and personal map, and support map, search, and feed features.

Public Treks: When you choose to make a Trek public, its associated location may be used to update Qutrek’s global map and may appear in search results, discovery features, and content feeds. Users with private Accounts may choose to make individual Treks public. Business Accounts are public by default.

Private Treks: If a Trek is not public, its associated location will not be displayed on Qutrek’s global map or public discovery features, but it may still be used to update your personal map and visited countries record, subject to the privacy controls available within the Service.

Approximate location: We may use city or region level location derived from your IP address to provide regionally relevant content, apply regional settings, support legal and security requirements, and display content appropriate to your language or region.

11.3 Your Control

• You can grant, deny, or revoke location permission at any time through your device’s operating system settings.

• If you deny or revoke location permission, you may continue to browse and interact with existing Content, but you may be unable to create a new Trek or save a location where those features require access to location data.

• When you choose to make a Trek public during the Trek creation process, the location associated with that Trek may be visible to other Users and may appear on Qutrek’s global map, in search results, discovery features, and public feeds.

• If you do not choose to make a Trek public, its associated location will not appear on Qutrek’s global map or in public search, discovery, or feed features. It may still be used to update your personal map and visited-countries record.

• You may delete a Trek at any time. When a Trek is deleted, its associated location data will be handled in accordance with the data retention provisions of this Policy.

• Qutrek does not track your location continuously or in the background. Precise location is accessed only when you actively use a feature that requires it, such as creating a Trek or saving a location for later use.

Where the GDPR applies, Qutrek processes precise location data with your consent. You may withdraw your consent at any time by changing your device permissions or using any location controls available within the Service. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before consent was withdrawn.

Where applicable California privacy law applies, precise geolocation may be treated as sensitive personal information. California residents may have the right to limit certain uses or disclosures of that information as provided by applicable law.

12. Cookies and Similar Technologies

Qutrek’s website is currently a basic informational landing page that provides information about the Service and links for downloading the Qutrek application.

The website may use cookies or similar technologies that are strictly necessary for security, basic functionality, and reliable operation. Qutrek also uses Google Analytics on the website to understand general website traffic and usage, such as page visits, traffic sources, and overall engagement.

The Qutrek mobile application does not use browser cookies. However, it may use mobile software development kits, device identifiers, local storage, and similar technologies necessary for application functionality, security, troubleshooting, crash reporting, analytics, and push notifications.

For example, Qutrek uses:

  • Google Analytics to understand general usage of the website and, where applicable, service usage trends;

  • Firebase Crash Reporting to identify, diagnose, and fix application crashes and technical issues; and

  • Firebase Cloud Messaging to deliver push notifications to Users’ devices.

You may control certain permissions, notifications, and privacy settings through your device’s operating-system settings and any controls available within the Service.

If Qutrek introduces additional non-essential analytics, advertising, or tracking technologies in the future, we will update this Policy and provide any notice, consent mechanism, or privacy choices required by applicable law.

13. Content Organization, Recommendations, and Moderation

13.1 Content Organization and Recommendations

Qutrek may organize, rank, and recommend Treks based on factors such as location, content classification, how recently the Trek was posted, popularity, stated interests, and interactions with the Service.

These systems are used to help Users discover relevant Treks, locations, destinations, and other Users. The factors used may change as Qutrek develops and improves the Service.

Where required by applicable law, we will provide information about the main factors used to organize or recommend Content and any available controls.

13.2 Content Moderation

Qutrek currently relies on human review to assess reported Content and potential violations of our Terms of Service and Community Guidelines.

Authorized Qutrek personnel may review reported Content, related Account information, and limited surrounding context where reasonably necessary to investigate a report, protect Users, enforce our policies, maintain the safety and security of the Service, or comply with applicable law.

Qutrek does not currently use third-party artificial intelligence services or automated content-moderation tools to review User Content.

Qutrek may introduce automated moderation, content-detection, recommendation, or artificial-intelligence tools in the future. If such tools process personal data, we will update this Policy and provide any notice, consent, or privacy choices required by applicable law.

14. Data Breach Notification

Qutrek takes reasonable steps to identify, investigate, contain, and address personal data breaches.

If a personal data breach occurs, Qutrek will assess the nature and scope of the incident, the categories of personal data involved, the potential consequences for affected individuals, and the measures reasonably available to reduce or prevent harm.

Where required by applicable law, Qutrek will:

  • Notify the relevant supervisory, regulatory, or governmental authority within the legally required period;

  • Provide information required by the applicable authority regarding the nature, scope, likely consequences, and response to the breach; and

  • Notify affected individuals where the breach is likely to result in a level of risk that requires individual notification.

Where the GDPR applies, Qutrek will notify the competent supervisory authority without undue delay and, where feasible, no later than 72 hours after becoming aware of a reportable personal data breach. Where a breach is likely to result in a high risk to affected individuals, Qutrek will notify those individuals without undue delay, unless an applicable legal exception applies.

Qutrek will maintain records of personal data breaches where required by applicable law, including relevant facts, effects, assessments, and remedial actions.

15. Third-Party Services and Links

The Service may contain links to, integrations with, or features provided by third-party websites, applications, platforms, or services.

When you access or use a third-party service, that third party may collect and process personal data under its own privacy policy and terms. This Privacy Policy does not govern the independent privacy practices of third parties.

We encourage you to review the privacy policies and terms of any third-party service before providing personal data or using its features.

Qutrek is not responsible for the independent content, availability, security, or privacy practices of third-party services, except to the extent responsibility cannot be excluded under applicable law.

This section does not affect Qutrek’s responsibility for service providers that process personal data on Qutrek’s behalf, as described elsewhere in this Privacy Policy.

16. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the Service, our data-processing practices, technology, service providers, legal requirements, or other operational needs.

When we update this Policy, we will revise the “Last Updated” date shown at the top.

Where changes are material, we may provide additional notice through one or more appropriate methods, such as:

· An in-app notice;

· A notice on our website;

· An email sent to the address associated with your Account; or

· A push notification.

The method and timing of notice will depend on the nature of the change and the requirements of applicable law.

Where applicable law requires your consent for a new or materially different processing activity, we will request that consent before beginning the relevant processing.

Your continued use of the Service after an updated Policy becomes effective means that you acknowledge the updated Policy. It does not replace consent where consent is required by applicable law.

We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically. If you do not agree with a change, you may stop using the Service and request deletion of your Account, subject to the retention provisions of this Policy.
